It is officially time for Mad Russian Apothecary to melt back into nature. Back into the ecosystem from whence we came from, having burst forth like a beautiful flower. Or a cute little mushroom with a red cap. Alas, our season is over.
Some of the best people Alex and I have ever known we’ve met while running Mad Russian Apothecary. The attendees of every spiritual fair, vendor event, craft show, and farmer’s market: We talk about you all, recall the best and funniest customer interactions after long fair days. We see you, humanity, and we love the real you.
… But the reality is that it’s hard. As the beaurocratic red tape mounts and regulations make it more difficult to be a craft business owner, we realized that this isn’t the same fun little thing we started 6 years ago. It’s more work than a full time job. And at some point, the work just becomes too much. Our business was not meant to be around forever. And when you’re good at it, work compounds, and it becomes too much for just one man and his “she has a real job-type job” wife to handle on our own.
So, Alex is happily and humbly retiring from his 24/7 job of running Mad Russian Apothecary. What we have in stock, bottled, and brewing right now is what we have left (minus the two cases of Mint Witch Honey that are mine, thank you). We’re going to be at fairs and events until we sell out. And when we sell out, we sell out. Place your orders now.

Alexei, the Beekeeper
Alexei has proudly overcome a life of chaos to embrace a simpler existence. He is our namesake and anchor – not easy jobs but suiting his personality as jovial tattooed metalhead who takes zero shit. He is meditative and strong and encourages us all to be the dandelion: resilient, persistent, without apologies.
Amber, the Witch
Amber’s colorful tapestry of life experiences has led her to actively choose peace and quiet – a tall order between working full time and nurturing her cadre of boys (Alex included) and beloved pets. She wears a lot of masks: marketing expert, design savant, artist, mom, wife – but strives to be nothing but herself.
